Circle of life

I often wondered if there was more to life than what I could see. Whatever I had learnt since childhood about reaping what you sow and good people are rewarded by God and bad ones are punished, was just not holding true in my life. Why did good people suffer? Why did things not go well for me when I didn’t do anything wrong?

So the search began. Like many others I know, I read books, learnt mediation, affirmations and attended workshops. With each my thinking patterns changed. I got many insights from books, discovered the beauty of inner peace with meditation, learnt the power of words with affirmations. My life improved immensely. I was determined to find God, self realisation and the secret of life. With each step I could feel I was closer to it.

I am enjoying every step of my inner journey. The next step always reveals itself at the perfect time. They say when you turn to walk towards God, he runs towards you. I once asked my mentor and guide if it was alright to keep changing our beliefs. I was dropping old beliefs with every step. She answered that if you continue with the same beliefs then where is the growth?

At this point I feel I have found the secret of leading a life of miracles. I have come back to where I began, completing the circle. I have discovered that I have nowhere to go and nothing to do. I am the miracle I was looking for. It has always been me. When it dawned on me, I looked around and found miracles in everyone and everything.

 

Have a fresh new love affair

Have a fresh new love affair! With yourself!
Be your own fan, admirer and best friend.
Blow yourself kisses when you cross a mirror. Pat your back, give yourself a hug many times a day.
You are God’s precious child. He always loves you! When a toddler is learning to walk and he trips, how cute does he look, trying to learn this new skill! When children learn to talk, they say the cutest things. You don’t criticize them, you adore what they say. Why would God be any different towards you?

He watches you as you rise in the morning and marvels at his own creation. He sees how you go about your day. He sends you loving messages with the birds and the flowers. You don’t notice them.

He sends his angels all day, sometimes as signs, a call from an old friend, a smile from a stranger, a message on a bill board, synchronised numbers, a message from someone you were thinking about, a deadline that got called off…. the signs are everywhere. You don’t see them?

You are so involved in your thoughts! A hundred things on your mind! Regrets from the past, worries of the future. Bitter feelings towards someone who said something, did something, to hurt you. Things you don’t possess. Responsibilities that weigh you down. But the past exists no more. The future will be exactly like the present, if you don’t change your thoughts.

So leave everything just for a moment. Look around you! Life is beautiful! You get to live it. You don’t have to do anything, you get to do it. And not endlessly, for a few decades only. In this magnificient body! This body that functions so well, all it’s organs quietely working in the background! You don’t have to remind your heart to pump blood, you don’t need to put ‘breathing’ on your to do list. All of the organs work in perfect harmony to keep your body going. Even if something does go wrong, the healing is inbuilt in your system. What a magnificient thing it is! Just tune into your own magnificience till you see nothing else in yourself!

Don’t critisize yourself! Pay no attention to those who do. Take your power back. You are magnificient. You are a precious child of God, temporarily in this form on this planet. You are worthy of love, you are worthy of all good things this life has to offer. You don’t have to earn it, you already deserve it just because you exist.

Look at the world with new eyes, the eyes of the child of God, looking at his creation. Know that the sun rises for you, the starts shine for you, the clouds shower for you, the flowers smile for you, the birds sing for you and all the angels cheer and sing for you.

Go dear child of God, and shine your light! Be your happiest self! Wake up in the morning knowing that life is a miracle, you are a miracle and skip through the day with a song on your lips, a smile on your face and a knowing in your heart that you are loved. Unconditionally.

The miracle that we are

We think of ourselves as a single living being, taking our own selves for granted.
Each cell of the billions of cells in our bodies is living and dying separately, functioning without our interference.
Each one living for a moment, but passing on it’s memory and function to the new one before dying! Yet, unaware of the millions of miracles in our own body, we criticize our looks, our health, our weight!
We run around being fascinated by other people, other objects, looking for attention. As if the attention and love of the divine running through us is nothing! As if the miracle that we are is nothing!
